Former Chelsea and England midfielder Karen Carney, who murdered after assisting the Lionesses hit the World Cup will soon be writing columns to the BBC Sport site, focusing on Radio 5 Live and featuring this year.
I gave to the game and today I need some time for me personally.
It’s worrying when you come out of game. It and everything you’ve ever completed. You have to get used to not going into the practice ground and being peppered by people every moment of every day. It is rather daunting.
But I’m enjoying the space and in the few decades I’d love to set up my own company in management consultancy. I’ve got a degree in sport science and a masters in psychology. I need to link into the company world. Do something of my own and I want to venture out although I’m enjoying the media work.
I think I am over it although I’ve been really busy I have not had the time to reflect on my retirement. When I were out running there have already been a few times this week and it has hit me. I miss the games that are huge, the match. I thought’I have not achieved what I wanted to attain’ but I got home and my knees hurt – I had been over it! I didn’t have the motivation to keep going.
I’m excited by challenges. There is a lot more to lifestyle – it had been among the greatest jobs on the planet and I was privileged to be able to get it done – but there’s much more to me.
I hurried home to see England’s friendly against Belgium’s end and I was surprised at emotional and how excited I was while watching it. I want them to do well, I always will. It is a new cycle so I am curious to see how they get on and they have made some changes. At no time did I think’I performed this and could have come on the market’. I was only watching as a fan.
This week, Even the Women’s Champions League starts again and Lyon need to be favourites because they’ve won it for the last four years.
Would be complacency as they’ve won it . I believe that they are good and they could allow it to slide although it’s tough to locate the motivation that is extra. The manager will take them to a different level.
It is often a mindset item. Last season at Chelsea, ” we believed we can do it, things might have been quite different. We only begun to think by Lyon following the first leg of our defeat and that was too late. They were challenged by us though and we were becoming closer.
It is up to the other groups around Europe to start thinking it. It is if they took note and thought’as everybody believes Lyon aren’t as invincible’. There are flaws – .
However, Lyon are good the reason why they are rated number one, so that’s that they will always have a response. There could be although it is theirs to lose usual.
Arsenal director Joe Montemurro has got them working and they have a really good squad. They could cause a few upsets, if their run from the Champions League is great. They’ve spent so much money in their team.
There are 3 different kinds of footballers – a league player, a Champions League player and an international player. All of them have fashions and different characteristics. Arsenal have gone for a great deal of European players that can suit them. As they are the types of players who will win Champions League 24, you need set-piece specialists and these ball carriers at crucial moments.
They also have a couple players who have enjoyed success on the stage. They contacted the World Cup final and won the Euros. It is no fluke. Those players know what it requires. Having that experience and knowledge is crucial. They won’t be frightened of moments and will be big-game players.
Manchester City are always great. I saw their match against Atletico Madrid they had been organised ordered, bodily and match.
Clearly they will miss Ellen White when she comes back that can offer them a second impetus although while she’s hurt. They are tough to beat, difficult to crack and so are well regimented. They may look to utilize counter-attacking football in Europe. Their experience will do them in this contest although I still think that they are a couple of players off.
As for Barcelona, they have been defeated in last year’s closing and they have been probably a bit naive. There is a big gap between the very best and them. Their style doesn’t suit the Champions League just yet as it is rather slow. I think they have to grow their intensity and move up the next level. They will have to and have more speed. So that they could add the strength , they are on to something they can continue to keep the ball for fun.
Champions League soccer is a competition for any team. It requires a long time to build a group that has quality, expertise and a style that can win this prestigious title to you.
